Kanchenjunga Trekking Nepal

Kanchenjunga is one of the most remote and a beautiful area lays in Eastern Nepal which, unused to foreign trekkers. This is third highest peak of the world, in this region magnificent view of Mt. Everest, Makalu and Kanchenjunga. A circuit is described, starting in Kathmandu, by busses Ilam or Basantpur accessible by road or traveling by air to Tumlingtar, crossing the milke Danda (ridge) to the valley of the tamur khola to reach the ghunsa khola the major river draining the north-west side of the Kanchenjunga himal.

This torrent is followed upstream to near its source, where the base camp is located on the north side of Kanchenjunga. Then after retracing your steps partway, as far as ghunsa, the route will take you to the south side of the massif, crossing a high pass. From there you head south to reach Taplejung, the district center for the northeast corner of Nepal.

Day 05: Trek Phurbu to Chirwa (1190m) and stay at tented Camp
Day 06: Trek Chirwa (1190m) to Sekathum (1640m) and stay at tented Camp
Day 07: Trek Sekathum (1640m) to Amjilessa (2490m) and stay at tented Camp
Day 08: Trek Amjilessa (2490m) to Gelpa (2730m) and stay at tented Camp
