The Langtang region lies in the northern part of Nepal closer to Kathmandu and bordering Tibet. Government of Nepal has protected as Langtang National Park and about 4500 people live inside the park. There are a number of high peaks including Langtang Lirung (7246m). The people mainly depend on timber and firewood.

It is famous trekking destination in Nepal and tourist are crowded in peak seasons.majority of the people living here are Tamang.There are some of the most spectacular Himalayan views and the mountain passes are overwhelming, which is a definite highlight of the trip! Another option is to undertake a shorter walk up to Kyanjin RI or walk further up the valley. That most corpses have been left where they fell some of them are visible from standard climbing routes.
