Mt. Baruntse Expedition

Mt. Baruntse Peak, standing at 7129 meters (23,389 feet), is a popular expedition peak for climbers looking to achieve success at the 7000 meter level. Located between Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu, with other Himalayan peaks stretching out on either side, it is an accessible mountain that offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills for progressing onto even higher peaks. However, we do not accept climbers with no prior peak climbing experience, and we carefully check for any prior alpine or mountain climbing experience before allowing someone to join the expedition.

  • Mt. Baruntse expedition takes us to the top of this majestic mountain, standing at 7129 meters (23,389 feet) and offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. We will use the South-east ridge route and a camp 1-2 strategy to make our way to the summit.

  • You'll spend 15 days in the Baruntse base camp at an altitude of 5460 meters (17,972 feet) and higher, preparing for the climb and acclimatizing to the altitude. Upon completion of the expedition, we will return to civilization via helicopter.

  • We maintain a 1:1 guide-to-climber ratio during the summit climb to ensure the highest level of safety and support. Our experienced guides will be there to assist you every step of the way.

  • In addition to climbing Mt. Baruntse, expedition also includes a crossing of the Amphu Lhabtsa Pass at an altitude of 5800 meters (19,029 feet) via the Khumbu Valley. This will be a challenging and rewarding experience that adds to the overall adventure.
